Are you living in denial over your need to own some new jewelry? I feel like we’ve all been there before. You see a piece on Instagram or while surfing the web and think to yourself “that’s a cute ring!” (…or necklace, or bracelet) but then quickly talk yourself out of buying it for one reason or another. But if you are guilty of any of the following five signs, it mayyy be time to treat yourself to something new.
1. You don’t have any jewelry and you don’t know where to start
Maybe it was never high on your priority list of things to buy or maybe you suffer from analysis paralysis (too many options so you don’t pick anything) but you somehow have gotten this far in life with little to no jewelry at home. If this is you, it is DEFINITELY time to snag something. There is no better way to upgrade your outfit than with something sparkly and new!
2. You wear the same pieces every day
Now don’t get me wrong – I too am guilty of wearing the same few items every day. Pretty sure that’s kind of the point of wearing a wedding ring, right? But there really isn’t anything better than changing up your look with a piece of statement jewelry. It is all about finding the right pieces to accent your go-to jewelry. My favorite thing to do is add a few rings to my right hand and layer some bracelets. Quick and easy!
3. Your jewelry box is full of broken pieces that are just gathering dust
Sure, you have jewelry at home, but you can you really consider broken bits and baubles jewelry if you can’t wear any of it? Maybe stones are missing, or the chain is tangled beyond saving. Either way your collection is virtually unwearable. You are a good candidate for something new to get yourself back in the accessorizing game (and maybe a deep dive into the jewelry box to see what can be fixed).
4. The only jewelry you own is event specific
Those earrings you wore as a bridesmaid in your cousin’s wedding are cute and all, but they are SO not your style. If your jewelry box is full of pieces that you were either gifted for an event or you purchased to wear with one specific outfit on that one specific day, then you are a candidate for a new treasure. Pick something out that really speaks to you so you can incorporate it into your look often. Or better yet – treat yourself to a few new pieces!
5. Your last jewelry purchase was from The Icing
You aren’t 12 anymore, but that was the last time you bought a piece of jewelry. If your last jewelry purchase was from the 2 for $25 rack at a store in the mall, it’s time to ditch those pieces and grab something new. No hate to Claire’s or the Icing, but it’s time to grow up.
